Baltimore Comic Con Report

Hello, all!

Russ and I returned from the Baltimore Comic Con late Sunday night and we took yesterday off to recover, but now we're back in action! And I'm here to post a few thoughts and lots of pictures.

But, first, I'll just cut the crap and tell you what you probably want to know!
No, I didn't win a Harvey. But that's ok. I won't pretend I'm not a little disappointed, but it really is the nomination that matters to me. The Best Colorist win went to Laura Martin, of Astonishing X-men, who is a very deserving recipient. You can find the list of winners here:
http://www.harveyawards.org/

I've never done an LJ cut before. I hope this works...
And now for many pictures and some more scattered thoughts about this past weekend...It's long! )

So that's the official writeup! Thanks for reading!
I'm gonna get back to work now!

I am wrecked!

The con went well. I had to take the first half of today off to recover, but there is now much work to do! No time for a full account of the Philly convention right now, but I'll get to that when I've gotten back on track with my art.

Until then, here's a picture of our booth. Dave Lewis, writer of LaLS is on the right. I'm in the middle. Dave Petersen, of Mouse Guard, is on the left. And Mark Smylie of Artesia is in the back doing Mark Smylie things.

More from me soon!

WWPhilly-Day 1

It's 7 in the morning and I'm achy and only partially concious. Day 1 of the con went pretty well.

We arrived at noon and set up shop at the Archaia Studios Press booth. Sold lots of books, which is awesome, and I sold some prints and cards. Mouse Guard, especially, is selling. Like hotcakes I say! It eventually got pretty slow, but it was only Friday. Also, I got to see alot of my comic biz homies. As well as many other homies. Fun fun.

When the con was over, we packed up everything and headed to Rangoon, a Burmese place in Chinatown. Had dinner with Dave Petersen(Mouse Guard,) Mark Smylie(Artesia,) and Sean Wang(Runners.) On the way, I just happened to see my friend Annelisa so I dragged her along too. After that, it was drinks at the Marriot. This bar becomes comic pro central after con hours. People walking around there included David Mack, Mike Oeming, Dave Devries, Kevin Smith, lots of others...

It's been awesome. Oh man, I'm gonna get my name-dropping ass showered and ready for more comic con. Later!

Lone & Level Sands on Amazon

Hello, all! I have exciting news!

Lone and Level Sands, the graphic novel from Archaia Studios Press, is now available and shipping from Amazon! Check it out!

Lone and Level Sands was written by A. David Lewis, drawn by Marv Mann and colored by me. It was previously released as a black & white book, but now Archaia Studios Press has released a full-color hardcover edition. It's a look at the story of the Exodus from the perspective of the Egyptian Royal Family.

That's all for now. Spent yesterday at the NYC Comic Convention promoting this book and other fine Archaia products and I'm exhausted. I'll probably post about the con very soon.
