Dresden Files RPG: Leanansidhe -The Final Version
Thank you for all the comments, all.

Here is the final version of that piece. Leanansidhe from the Dresden Files in full-color.

Dresden Files: Leanansidhe

In case you missed it yesterday, here is a look at this illustration's process.

Well, I love the way you juggle cookies. This is just a big ol lovefest. :)

That sounds like a double entendre.

You only say that because you have not eaten the juggled cookies!

So this version is the best on yet, and if you will permit me a moment's more fake art historian pretensions:

The line draws Harry's eyes--and ours--to Lea's crotch. Nice.

More stuff:

She's the center and source of the chaos, and she's unaffected by it. There's all this screaming and tearing up of stone and choking and blood going on all over the place, and she's just floating on that horse.

Fucking sweet.

It is incredibly sexy that she's barefoot.

There, I've said it publicly. I feel better.

Your user name is an Eddie Izzard reference, and that is delightful.

That's all I wanted to say. :)

Thank you ;-)

I would say, then, that my mission was a success.

Feel free to snag it. I was given it freely, and so too do I give it freely.

That's actually a very astute observation of what I assume was a purposeful choice in the rendering of the design.

Looking very good there Jen. I've talked about the basic design before, but let me say that what strikes me the most about that final piece is that the colors are really fantastic - especially in the hair. Overall its adorable, sexy and nightmarish all at the same time - what we've come to expect from your handiwork. I give it the 'Happy David Tennant Doctor Face' icon. Huzzah!

But wow! I have no idea what a collaboration would look like! At all! Well, there's only one way to find out...

Not quite what I pictured of her, but still, no question of there being significant talent. I even remember the scene from the book being depicted.

Good work. I do like it!

Thanks! Well I'm not 100% convinced the characters are how I picture them either! But that's one of the funny qualities of making art I guess. Do the research, take all the pieces, put them together...and the end result is still a surprise.

That is something I've often wondered about. Me, I can barely draw a straight line with a ruler and a draftsman to help, let alone create a new picture. Having the ability to see something in your mind's eye well enough to replicate it in the real world.. borderlines on magic, imho.

How often does what you see in your mind vary significantly from what you have as an end result? How do you deal with the inconsistencies?

I can only speak for myself of course.

In my experience, the picture you see in your head often seems very clear until you try to describe it or translate it into a visual. Then you realize it's actually kind of dream-like and vague. Or...this happens to me fairly often...or the picture in your head just doesn't add up to what's actually being described. I can picture a character a very specific way...maybe subconsiously associating them with an actor or something...but then I read the details. What the writer says they're wearing, what they describe about their features...and it's different from what my instincts are telling me.

Every step from that initial idea toward the final is solving a new problem. Every problem that gets solved adds its own flavor to the overall piece and it will evolve. Essentially, the final product is always a surprise for me in some way. And it's part of the fun.

It's hard to communicate this. Any of it make sense?

and unclarity that existed in the ink version is entirely removed here. It all makes perfect sense now.

again, the little details really make this sing.

Ok I have had no real interest in this game so far.
I did enjoy what episodes of the show on the SciFi channel that I was able to catch.

Now seeing this pic I am almost interested in it
